Sadly I don't really have a favorite restaurant. I like the crepe house on polk and washington http://www.thecrepehouse.com/ and quetzal for breakfast. I also like this place in the Marina called That Takes the Cake because they have really good cupcakes. http://www.that-takes-the-cake.com/

NEVER get food from Le Petit Marchet. I ordered food from here once. I thought it was a cute French bakery or something. they gave me campbells soup except they forgot to even mix in the water with it. They also made me a sandwich with two heels of the bread. :(

The Butler and the Chef in South Park is rather good for brunch. I recommend it. Don't let the behavior of the chef dissuade you from enjoying your food, haha.

the Butler and the Chef is good, but a little pricey, especially for brunch.

Has anyone tried "Gitane" @ Union Square yet? I herd it's good with eclectic interior :D

My favourite restaurant thus far has been Paul K in Hayes valley.  They have excellent bistro fare at great prices.  I am also a fan of Cafe Flore in the castro, and Zazie near the Haight.

(Zazie has a "Baked Hot Chocolate" which is better than life itself)

There's a good place on Henry Street and Noe called L'Ardoise. The food is good and the service is great. They have some great fish dishes, confit de canard, nice desserts and a good wine list. The price is moderate, and there's a nice neighborhood atmosphere. I think all the wait staff speak French.

Je peux recommander ce restaurant avec confiance. Si vous aimez la cuisine française (surtout le style bistro) je crois bien que vous l'aimerez et que vous y retournerez souvent!
